Pedometers and 15,000 steps

I bought a pedometer 5 weeks ago and began a new journey. Over the winter I became lazy, eating whatever I want and not exercising. I am disappointed with myself for falling into this slump.

So, I took my measurements, weighed myself, and got walking. I began with taking my first 3 days and taking the average from that. It was about 8,000 steps. I began by increasing my steps immediately. I also changed what I eat and when I eat it.

I am 5 weeks in now and I have increased my steps to 15,000+ steps. My goal is to increase my steps, continue to eat healthy, and not relapse over the fall and winter.

At the end of summer I will weigh in and take my measurements again and hopefully see improvements.

Good luck to those out there trying too!

January 1st

I've decided this year to not write goals/resolutions for the new year.

Most years this is the day that I sit down and in a quiet moment think about what I want to accomplish this year. The list is usually filled with ideas about losing weight, being more active, writing more, reading more and on and on.

Last year was filled with heartache and then later filled with hope. I've decided this year to spend the day with family and friends and continue on with that throughout the year.

This year I want to be happy and healthy.

I'm keeping it simple. What are you going to do?
